Mrs A writes:

In August 2008, our three-year-old daughter suddenly became ill.  We thought nothing of it as we put it down to flu and bad tonsillitis as first diagnosed by the doctors.  However as the weeks progressed and the assumed flu was not getting any better and greatly affected her breathing, we ended up in our local hospital where the diagnosis of a cancerous tumour was given.  She was immediately put into an assisted sleep as her breathing became laboured and was in intensive care for nine days.

Our world came to a standstill and everything went into a state of suspended animation.  We were lost thinking what do we do, and all the questions about the whys began. We were distraught.

As Christians during these challenging, stormy and troubled times, we held on greatly to our faith as there was nothing else to see us through this ordeal.  We stood on the promises of God concerning healing with the full assurance and conviction that our God is good and there is no unrighteousness in Him.

We found comfort in our Maker and we held on to His promises concerning our family and our daughter. The brethren in the body of Christ corporately and individually called prayer sessions all over the world for this wonderful gift of God and petitioned heaven on her behalf throughout these stormy times.

The long journey then started with the treatment of this tumour.  Despite all the painful and several moments of being in the hospital, we never at any point doubted the word of the Lord in Isaiah 10 verse 27 that said: ”And the yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing”.

The Lord destroyed this tumour and restored back the health of our daughter inspite of all.  She was given the all clear with no traces of the tumour.  What a great and mighty God we serve.  God demonstrated His power and might in her life confirming that with men it may be impossible but with God all things are possible.

It is therefore the Lord’s doing and it is marvelous in our eyes.  All the glory, adoration and honour be unto His name.  There is none like our God. He is the Anchor of Hope, the hope of the hopeless and a very present help in times of trouble.
